Understanding that the Virtues as laid out by Lord British are the philosophical basis for the formation of this order and therefore fundamentally shape its functioning, we establish what each of those Eight Virtues means as an introductory segment of this charter.
Honesty
Honesty is achieved when a person speaks Truth both with his heart and with his mind. Never should a person lie or conceal the Truth, for Honesty and Trust are the cornerstones of cohabitation. Honesty should be present at all times for the very use of lies or concealment corrupts the soul. Committing a single lie can be devastating, as it is often the first step on the path of Darkness.
Honesty is the dedication never to deceive oneself or another, and derives from Truth.

The Humble soul has gained the most important insight that a soul can gain: the insight of its own limitations, and that it is in no way better than the others that surround it. It will act according to this insight, and be cautious before making any use of its knowledge, knowing that it might not be accurate. The Humble soul always listen to reason, to complete its own impression of the world, and it never seeks fame or fortune, for it hath understood that these do not create happiness.
